Check out Peter Wolf Crier performing live for Kiyanna Project, an Austin video series. Head after the jump to read my press release about the video.
View an incredible live performance from Peter Wolf Crier at KiyannaProject.com. The acclaimed Minneapolis trio is the latest band to stop by Austin, TX, to film an intimate live session for the Kiyanna Project video series.
In keeping with Kiyanna Project’s mission – to showcase talented new artists performing in unique Austin locations – art director Ruwan Perera helped the band set up an impromptu recording session inside a tire shop off Burnet Road. The video features Peter Wolf Crier performing “Haunt You,” a sincere, emotional track from their latest LP, “Garden of Arms,” released last September on the Jagjaguwar label.
In the exclusive video, singer Peter Pisano talks about the song’s dark universal themes and calls the track, “my very best attempt to try to describe what it’s like to try to love someone whose been abused.”
Peter Wolf Crier calls “Garden of Arms,” “a document that paints a vivid portrait of all the pain and beauty of growth.” A departure of sorts from the band’s 2010 debut LP, “Inter-Be,” “Garden of Arms” was heralded by The A.V. Club as “clearly a more polished piece of work than its predecessor, but never slick or lacking in personality, and never dull.”
The performance marks the eleventh video session by Austin’s Kiyanna Project, an online film series that captures one story and one song from local and touring bands. In recent months, Kiyanna Project has posted exclusive live sessions with Tokyo Police Club, Nurses, Love Inks, Balmorhea and more.
